📖 About

Wadi Ghalilah is the UAE's most dramatic dead-end: a canyon amphitheatre whose headwalls rise ~1,500 metres sheer — home to the infamous Stairway to Heaven route above and, on the floor, an approachable world of village ruins, terraced fields and boulder-hop strolls anyone can enjoy.

You don't need the death-route to justify the drive: the valley-floor wander beneath those walls, falcons circling the rim, is among the most spectacular easy outings in the country.

⭐ Highlights

  • ~1,500 m canyon headwalls
  • Valley-floor strolls under huge exposure
  • Village ruins and terraces
  • Base of the Stairway to Heaven

💡 Insider Tips

  • The floor walk suits everyone; the headwall routes suit almost no one.
  • Morning light reaches the depths; afternoons go shadowed.
  • Greet villagers — the wadi is still lived in.
