🚇 Getting There The old Masafi–Dibba track (4x4 advised) — bypassed by the modern highway

📖 About

Before the highway, traffic to Dibba wound through Wadi Tayyibah — and when the new road opened, this valley simply fell off the map: old tarmac fragments and gravel track descending through palm clusters, abandoned hamlets, falaj lines and rock pools, in scenery the speeding bypass never sees.

Now it's the connoisseur's detour: drive-and-wander terrain where every stop offers terraces to poke around, and the silence of a route the world forgot. Remote enough to demand self-sufficiency; rewarding enough to justify it.

⭐ Highlights

  • The abandoned old road to Dibba
  • Palm hamlets and falaj remnants
  • Rock pools in season
  • Bypassed-by-history atmosphere

💡 Insider Tips

  • 4x4 or high clearance; conditions vary yearly.
  • Download offline maps — signal drops in the wadi.
  • Combine with the Friday Market at Masafi on the way in.
