Palm Jumeirah & The Pointe
The man-made island seen from space — and the waterfront that faces Atlantis
The world's largest observation wheel — 250 metres over Bluewaters Island
Ain Dubai ("Dubai Eye") is the largest and tallest observation wheel ever built — 250 metres, nearly twice the height of the London Eye. One rotation takes about 38 minutes in a spacious climate-controlled cabin, with views over Dubai Marina, JBR beach, the Palm and the open Gulf.
It anchors Bluewaters Island, a modern dining-and-retail island connected to JBR by footbridge — worth a visit in its own right for waterfront restaurants and the best straight-on views of the wheel. Important: the wheel has gone through extended maintenance pauses since opening, so confirm it is operating before you build your day around a ride.
Even when the wheel is closed, Bluewaters and the JBR beachfront below make this one of the best evening areas in new Dubai — and the wheel is a spectacular photo subject when its rim lights up after dark.
