Musandam's resident Indo-Pacific humpback and bottlenose dolphins treat the fjords as home waters — riding dhow bows so reliably that operators build them into the schedule, hunting the sardine shoals in view of the coast road's headlands.
The free version is genuinely possible: scan calm morning water from the Khasab corniche, harbour walls or coastal viewpoints and the fins oblige often enough to make a sport of it. The boat version approaches certainty.
