A Roman-style amphitheatre with a mountain waterfall — the east coast's surprise
In 2020 Khor Fakkan unveiled the east coast's most improbable landmark: a full Roman-style amphitheatre of 3,600 seats carved against the mountainside, flanked by an artificial waterfall pouring 45 metres down the rock face beside it.
Concerts and festivals fill the calendar sporadically, but the site works as pure spectacle any evening — climb the tiers for bay views, watch the illuminated waterfall after dark, and take the adjacent Al Rabi tower path for the elevated angle.
Together with the beach, the dam and Wadi Shis, it completes Khor Fakkan's transformation into the UAE's most scenic small city — still barely on the tourist map.
