Mleiha Archaeological Centre
130,000 years of Arabia — the museum that unlocks the desert around it
Red dunes with 130,000 years of human history underneath
Mleiha is the thinking traveller's desert: the same cinematic red dunes and fossil-strewn outcrops as anywhere in the Gulf — but layered over one of Arabia's most important archaeological landscapes, where humans have left traces for 130,000 years.
The Mleiha Archaeological Centre orchestrates it all: dune-bashing and buggy safaris that stop at Bronze Age tombs, sunset hikes up Fossil Rock, camel treks, overnight camps — adventure with an unusually good story attached.
It's Sharjah's flagship experience and, for many visitors, the best-run desert operation in the country: smaller convoys, guides who genuinely know the ground, and dark-sky nights the city deserts lost long ago.
