Warehouses turned art district — the creative soul of Dubai lives in Al Quoz
Eight galleries of hands-on wonder — the thinking family's play space
OliOli (Hawaiian for "joy") is Dubai's experiential children's museum — eight interactive galleries built on the philosophy that children learn by doing: a Future Park of digital art from Japan's teamLab, a two-storey Toshi's Nets climbing sculpture, air-pressure labs, water galleries, car-building ramps and a toddler haven for the under-2s.
It's the anti-arcade: no screens for their own sake, no tickets-for-prizes — just brilliantly engineered open-ended play that has made it a fixture on world's-best-children's-museum lists and a religion among Dubai parents.
Sessions run about three hours, which is honest scheduling: that's roughly when children hit joyful exhaustion. The water gallery provides aprons; bring a change of clothes anyway.
