Dubai's trendiest beachfront — street art, boutiques and calm swimming
La Mer reinvented the Dubai beach day when it opened: a low-rise beachfront district of container-style boutiques, splashy murals, hammocks on the sand and a skate-park energy that feels closer to Bondi or Venice Beach than to a mega-resort.
The swimming is some of the calmest in the city thanks to the sheltered bay, and the people-watching is elite. Around the sand: dozens of casual eateries, an inflatable aqua park offshore in season, and street art on every second wall.
Note that the wider district has been evolving — sections have closed for redevelopment into the upscale J1 Beach — so check current openings before planning a full day. The beach itself remains one of Jumeirah's nicest stretches.
